What is Dogo onsen like?

Dogo draws on 18 sources at 20 to 55 degrees and blends them to about 42, with no heating and no added water. That makes it unheated, undiluted kakenagashi, water flowing straight from the source, which the official site calls rare in Japan. Dogo Onsen Honkan, the main bathhouse, was rebuilt in 1894 and later became the first public bath in Japan designated a national Important Cultural Property. From JR Matsuyama Station the city tram reaches Dogo Onsen Station in about 20 minutes, and the Honkan is three to five minutes on foot from there.
