What is Ginzan onsen like?

Ginzan takes its name from the Nobesawa silver mine, and Western-style wooden inns of several storeys, built from the late Taisho to the early Showa era, line both banks of the Ginzan River. In the first year of the Showa era, boring at the source struck plentiful hot water at a high temperature, and the city gives the spring type as sodium chloride-sulfate. Gas lamps light the streets, a townscape the city describes as rich in atmosphere. Day bathing is limited: Ginzanso takes day bathers only around midday and not on Thursdays, and Kosekiya Bekkan only on Saturdays and Sundays.
